Books for kids to learn about money

One of the best ways to teach your kids all about money is with books. These days there are plenty of great books out there to help your kids learn about money the right way. These are the ones I recommend, hands down!

Ultimate Kids Money Book - Written by Neale Godfrey, who is an expert on kids and money, this book has great illustrations. I would say that this book is geared to kids under 10. The pictures and drawings are detailed, thought provoking and will definitely hold your child's attention. There are trivia tidbits throughout the books as she covers the history of money, saving, spending, earning and banking.

The Kids Guide to Money: Earning It, Saving It, Spending It, Growing It, Sharing It - This is geared for kids, probably aged 9 - 12. Steve Otfinoski promotes solid financial values, such as the rewards of work, finding a job, or starting a business. The focus in this book is geared towards starting a business for kids. This is a well written book that will open up your child's creative mind for ways to make and grow their money!

The Totally Awesome Money Book for Kids - Ths book is written by a lawyer and radio host and her son and has been featured on Good Morning America and Oprah. It also was nominated by the American Library Association as the"Best Book for Young Adults". Geared towards 10-17 year old kids, it provides a great overview of investment principles and management areas such as budgeting, saving, credit card debt, taxes and not to be forgotten...financial goals! Financial concepts that sound complicated are explained in a clear, friendly way.

These books will hold your children's interest, spark their imagination and teach them financial concepts and values that will last a lifetime. Money books for kids are just as important as their history, math and English books they get from their classrooms. I hope you and your kids enjoy these books as much as I have!
